STAFF SGT ABRAMSON WOUNDED IN ACTION
Staff Sergeant Leonard Abramson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Abramson of 5 Cedar Street, was wounded in action in Luzon, according to word received by his parents. He is now on the road to recovery and has been awarded the Purple Heart, which he has sent to his parents.

Leonard Abramson, of 141 Chestnut Hill Road, Norwalk, husband of Ethel Satowitz Abramson, died Sunday morning in West Haven Veterans Administration Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Abramson was born in Norwalk, the son of the late Samuel and Esther Greenspan Abramson, and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He was a real estate broker and developer and a member of Beth Israel Synagogue and the Independent Hebrew Society. A veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II, he was awarded the Order of the Purple Heart. Surviving are his wife of Norwalk; three sons, Paul Abramson of Willimantic, Seth Abramson of Storrs, Keith Abramson of New Orleans, Louisiana; a daughter, Miss Kim Abramson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and a sister, Mrs. Irving (Sylvia) Schnable of Norwalk. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 1 o’clock in the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, with Rabbi Israel Yavne of Beth Israel Synagogue officiating. Interment took place at the Independent Hebrew Society Cemetery. Shiva (period of mourning) will be observed at the late residence.
