Nico, the French Historian

“The French never forget.” — Nico Courtine; Historian; Draguignan, France

Over the last few years, I’ve had a bond with someone in France who really appreciates what Americans have done to keep France free. He is Nico. A former paratrooper, he leads the way in honoring American troops who made the ultimate sacrifice for the French. Yesterday, he sent me a link about one of my hometown heroes. It includes information from a page on my website. It’s an honor to have my work get represented a long way from home. Thank you Nico. It’s an honor.

His page (click on the U.S. flag in the top left corner to translate to English): https://www.database-memoire.eu/prive/en-us/rhone-us/198-rhone-s-us/8997-semple-warren-e-49-fs-14-fg

My page about Warren Semple, the most highly decorated Air Force pilot from Norwalk, Connecticut: https://norwalkctheroes.org/2020/07/29/first-lieutenant-warren-everett-semple-u-s-army-air-force/

Two part-time historians a continent apart with similar interests and a bond. It’s a good day.
