  1. I can’t wait to see what comes of today’s gathering! I’m saddened to think being “too local” is a factor in publishers turning your work away. Here in Vermont 90% of the time you can’t get through one week without our state’s apparent catch phrases “buy local” and “keep it local”… Many blessings to you and this amazing endeavor! I’m glad to have had a chance to encounter you and your work… Thanks to the sacrifice of my father and Richard A Kaske KIA 12/21/67 Vietnam and many other great folks… Thank you for sharing their story!!

    1. It’s an honor Danielle. My hope is that the work inspires towns and cities across the country to duplicate this kind of project. Their stories need to be told.

    2. I would like to let you know that your father was one of the nicest guys I knew growing up. He was a couple of years older than me and friends with my brother Dan but always helped me learn to deal with the teenage years.
      I still pray for him.

    1. Thank you for the kind words. I like the format of your site more than mine. It would take a lot of time to go back and change it for the 400+ posts so far. It has served it’s intended purpose and I’ve heard from some families who appreciate the work. That’s what matters. I’d like to see every city do what we do They’re just names on a plaque until someone breathes some life into their story. All the best…

      1. I agree. And I have been able to hear feedback from family as well. That is very rewarding. I hope to add more personal interviews in the future. I did not know anyone else did what you and I are doing.
