Donald was a passenger on C-46D #44-77420, 56th Squadron, 375th Troop Carrier Group. C-46D #44-77420 took off from Biak Island, Indonesia on a Cargo & Passenger mission to Dulag, Leyte, Philippines. They were not heard from after takeoff and were assumed to have crashed at sea during the war.
