  1. Hello, my name is Oscar Huisman from Overloon, Holland. I am a volunteer of the Overloon War Chronicles foundation. (www.overloonwarchronicles.nl) We started with collecting the portraitpictures and background stories of the 281 buried British soldiers in our little village. But now we also want to give “a face” to all 130 US soldiers who died during the Battle of Overloon in october 1944. John T. Miller was unfortunately one of them. Especially now , because October 2024 will be exactly 80 years ago.

Apart from the information present on this wonderful website, do you possibly have a portrait photo of John T. Miller?

I look forward to your response.
    Best regards,

    1. Hello Oscar. Thank you for honoring John T. Miller. After I received your message, I went back into Private Miller’s file and realized I never looked into his son, Francis L. Miller who died in 2021. Within 5 minutes, I found Francis Miller’s wife, John T. Miller’s daughter in law, on Facebook. Unfortunately, she is leaving on vacation for 2 week but promised to look for a picture of John Miller when she returns. As soon as I know more, I’ll get back to you. Overloon is doing a great by honoring those lost in the Battle of Overloon. I’m honored to help in any way I can.

      1. Thank you for your quick response!
I hope Francis Miller’s wife can help us with a picture.
If there is more information about John T. to tell, I will be happy to conceal it in our database.
Our foundation has it’s own Facebook-page too, so it it possible to follow us. We are very busy with the British, but I think the Americans will come also in the picture in 2024. They had an horrible battle around Overloon and lost a lot of good men.
Thank you for your effort to help us.
