Yesterday I completed two bonus additions to the page — Norwalk Fire Department and Norwalk Police Department. I felt that if the URL is “NorwalkCTHeroes”, then certainly I needed to recognize those who fell in the line of duty in those two organizations. Both departments were kind enough to send the information. I’m truly amazed that in all the years of the Norwalk Fire Department, there has been only one loss in the line of duty. Really incredible safety record.
Today is National Purple Heart Day. Later today, I will emcee an event for recipients and recipient’s families. To date, there are 117 in total. I will add names as I receive them. A 100% accountability is the goal. Sometimes that task is made difficult due to being unable to find living family members. The mission continues…
