Born to James P. (1813-1890) and Cynthia U. Mead Fitch (1812-1893). Siblings were Alonzo (1846-1903) and Marcus (1850-1890).

Captured at Culpepper, Virginia September 13, 1863.

Died at Andersonville Prison, Andersonville, Georgia on September 1, 1864.


Buried at Norwalk Union Cemetery, Union Avenue, Norwalk, CT; Avenue L
