PRIVATE WILLIAM LEVI BODWELL

1839 (New York) – July 5, 1863 (Gettysburg, PA); 23 years old
Company C, 28th Regiment, Connecticut Volunteers.
Enlisted September 9, 1862.
Wounded July 2, 1863 at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Died of those wounds July 5, 1863.

Though William has a memorial stone in Avenue G, Union Cemetery in Norwalk, CT, according to the internet and his relatives, he is actually buried at “Schwartz’s Red Rock” in Gettysburg, PA.
