Eric H. Miller, 64, of 3 June Avenue, died Friday morning at the U.S. Veterans Hospital, West Haven, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie Hadden Miller; a son, Lt Eric Miller Jr., with the U.S. Navy in Boston; a daughter, Shirley Hanlon of Norwalk; a brother, Clifford, of Tucson, Arizona; a sister, Hilda Wright of Norwalk; and nine grandchildren. Mr. Miller was a veteran of World War I and a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. He was employed as a lace weaver with the Connecticut Lace Company. Mr. Miller, who was affectionately known to a wide circle of friends as Captain Miller, was a life member of the Norwalk Boat Club. He was a member of the Ischoda Yacht Club and the Hope Hose Fire Company. The funeral will be held from the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Monday morning at 8:30 to St. Mary’s Church for a high mass of requiem at 9 o’clock. The interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and from to 9 today and Sunday. Norwalk Boat Club members are asked to assemble at the clubrooms at 7 p.m. Sunday to visit the funeral home in a group.
