Four sisters, Theresa Esposito DeMenna (1901-1985), Lucy Esposito Santagata Fusco (1904-1974), Filomena “Fanny” Esposito Sabia (1908-2007), and Edith Aida Esposito Geronimo (1911-2003). Five brothers, Ralph (1905-1988), Anthony (1909-2008), Salvatore (1920-1985), Aniello “Neal” (1924-2011), and Peter (1913-1982).

DECORATIONS: Purple Heart Medal for wounds received on November 11, 1944, Presidential Unit Citation, and the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. Participated in the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe Campaigns.

OTHER: Part owner and operator of Esposito & Sons Bakery at 20 Knapp Street in Norwalk.

PFC FRANK ESPOSITO WOUNDED, IS OKAY

Private First Class Frank J. Esposito, who was recently reported by the War Department as wounded in action in Germany, has returned to active duty according to letters received from him by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aniello Esposito of 18 Knapp Street. Possessor of the Purple Heart, PFC Esposito, has been overseas for two years and went into the Army three years ago. He has two brothers in the service, Private John Esposito, with a Medical Detachment in France, and Sergeant Peter Esposito, stationed in Florida.

Frank J. Esposito, 89, of Norwalk, husband of Anne Manzi Esposito, died Monday in the Norwalk Hospital. Frank was born in Norwalk on July 30, 1918, the son of the late Aniello and Margarite Savino Esposito and had been a lifelong resident. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Third Armor Division and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was part owner and operator, with his brothers, of Esposito & Sons Bakery for many years. In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by 5 children, Margaret, Francis, Roseanne, Neal, and Peter; 2 brothers, Neal and Tony; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, East Norwalk. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Norwalk, with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
