Word has been received from Private Clifford E. Bedell of Norwalk that he is still confined to an Army hospital in the Mediterranean area by injuries that he sustained in action in the Italian mountains. He says: “I am still waiting it out in the hospital, and I believe I will for another month. I don’t know yet how it is going to turn out.” Private Bedell, better known here as “Irish,” is suffering from cartilage complications of the knee. An operation is expected. He has been laid up since around the holidays of early winter.
