Private Edward Lawrence McSally, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward L. McSally, Sr., of 20 Fairview Avenue, has been wounded in action, according to an Office of War Information (OWI) list released today.

EDWARD MCSALLY; PURPLE HEART RECIPIENT

Edward McSally, of Norwalk, passed away on December 18, 2007, at St. Vincent’s Hospital. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, three daughters, Jane McSally and Janet Courville both of Milford, and Patty McSally of Norwalk; and one son Michael McSally of West Friendship Maryland. He is also survived by five grandchildren. Prior to his retirement, Ed was a partner with Barnie Breeman at Breeman and McSally Insurance. Ed also served in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He enjoyed golfing at Shorehaven with his friends and was a lifelong fan of the New York Giants. Calling hours are 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM in St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Matthew Church or to the Shorehaven Caddy Scholarship Fund, 14 Canfield Avenue, East Norwalk, CT 06855.


Buried in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, Connecticut; Section and Plot number are unknown.
