When I created this website, I created a page dedicated to the 26 women with a connection to Norwalk who served during World War I. They were either Red Cross nurses, Army nurses, YMCA employees, or, in one case, active-duty Navy. All survived the war, and their stories deserve to be told.
I never really liked the layout of the existing page because it lumped all of the biographies on one page instead of having one post per honoree, as they each deserve.
Starting today, I will publish one biography a day until all 26 stories are retold individually. I will also look for any new information through the usual websites such as ancestry.com, fold3.com, and newspapers.com.
The goal is to honor their service the right way.

That is very wonderful My great grandmother was a nurse in WW1 and these pages are important as their acts of duty made a big difference!
