FAMILY: Born to William [1861-?] and Jean Wynter Chalmers [1865-1948]. One sister, Jean E. Chalmers Hooker [1887-1959].

SERVICE DATES: Called into active service on May 29, 1918. Served at Walter Reed General Hospital in Washington, DC, until July 16, 1918. Then Base Hospital #48, Mars-sur-Allier, France, until January 19, 1919. Then Base Hospital #53, Langres, France, until April 23, 1919. Discharged on May 22, 1919.

Smith, Williamina Chalmers, 86, died Friday afternoon, May 23rd, in Westfield Manor Nursing Home Meriden. She was the widow of Franklin H. Smith and lived until 1977, most of her life in Rochester and Pittstord. She is survived by her niece, Mrs. Nancy Hooker Peters, 36 Alexander Dr., Meriden, CT 06450; a grandnephew, Thomas; his two children and a cousin, Mrs. Clarence Wynd, 4 Landsdown Lane, Rochester. Friends wishing to give something in her memory may contribute to the Visiting Nurse Service, 1609 Main St East, Rochester. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Riverside Cemetery, Rochester. Arrangements by Zornow Funeral Home, Pittsford.


Williamina Chalmers is buried in Riverside Cemetery, 2650 Lake Ave, Rochester, New York; Section G-2-99.
