Word has just been received here of the death of Miss Anna Trant Hipson of East Eden Grove, Umatilla, Florida, who passed away at her home in Florida Wednesday morning. Miss Hipson was born in Yonkers, New York, and until January 1922, resided with her parents at Seaside Place, Norwalk. Miss Hipson attended local schools and was a graduate of Hillside School and the president of her class in her senior year. During the World War, she enlisted and served as a student nurse at General Hospital No. 3, Colonia, New Jersey, and General Hospital No. 41, Staten Island. While stationed at Staten Island, Miss Hipson, in line of duty, contracted a heart ailment. At that time, she was a bed patient for several months and, in 1922, went to Florida to make her home with her brother, Caryl, at Umatilla, where she regained her health. Later, Miss Hipson took up social service work. It was while undertaking new activities in the Florida State Welfare that overwork brought on a return of the heart ailment suffered during the World War, and for the past 4 months, Miss Hipson was confined to bed. The funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 25, at 8 P.M. at Umatilla, Florida. Miss Hipson’s father, H. J. Hipson, and her two sisters, Misses Olive and Inez Hipson of Seaside Place, left for Umatilla Thursday night by train.
