PRIVATE ROBERT SLYBUN HALL; U.S. ARMY

DOB/DOD: December 26, 1898 (Bridgeport, CT) – October 24, 1918; 18 years old
MARITAL STATUS: Unmarried
LOCAL ADDRESS: 11 ½ North Main Street, South Norwalk
ENLISTMENT: April 24, 1917
SERVICE NUMBER: 1056463
UNIT: Company E, 19th Infantry Regiment

FAMILY: Next of kin was Mrs. Mary “Mae” Hall Goulding (1880-1950), an aunt of 300 Carroll Avenue, Bridgeport. She had two brothers, Wesley (1883-?) and Charles (1894-?). It is likely that Wesley was Private Hall’s father because Charles’s birth year is too close to Private Hall’s. Nothing else was found.

CIRCUMSTANCES: Died of bronchial pneumonia at Camp Benning, Columbus, Georgia. More than likely related to the Spanish Influenza outbreak.

OTHER: Worked as a Hatter and an electrician before entering the service. More than likely related to the Spanish Influenza outbreak.
