Born to Samuel Beers Jr. (1816-1874) and Susannah Platt (1821-1852). One brother, George A. (1840-1841). Two sisters, Mary J. Beers Gregory (1844-1900) and Susan A. (1850-1874). One half-sister, Harriet E. Beers Sheldon (1856-1939).

OTHER: Resident of Wilton in the 1850 census. Enlisted on October 26, 1861.

CIRCUMSTANCES: Killed in Action on April 2, 1865 at Fort Gregg, Virginia.
