2023 year in review

I was hoping for an increase in traffic to the site this year. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.

Compared to last year:

That’s a 28% decrease in traffic. The probable cause is there was a lot more activity to the Vietnam section in 2022 due to the replica Vietnam Memorial, The Wall That Heals, being in town in June 2022. There was a solid plan to educate the town on who the heroes were who died during the Vietnam War from Norwalk.

These are the top 10 posts or pages since the site launched in 2020:

This is how the site or pages/posts were found:

All in all, not so bad. I will continue to update the pages as new information becomes available. The research is done, so new bios and posts will become less frequent. The site stands as a memorial to those who gave their lives during wartime with bonus material that I hope the readers appreciate.

Happy New Year to all!

  1. Hi Jeff,

I’m late to this email but I hope traffic will stabilise today. Have you considered creating a Wikipedia page for the site? It apparently increases traffic. I also wonder if connecting with ancestry.com somehow. But I know this is a lot of work and as you said, the research is all there and this is a memorial, not about performance.

On this note wishing you a belated new year. Kind regards,

    Geraldine

    1. I haven’t considered a Wikipedia page. I think it’s very easy to find the site and the pages in it through a simple Google search. For some of the pages, I left a note on Ancestry.com with a link to the memorial page on my site. Other than that, I’ll probably leave it as-is.

      Hope all is well.

      Jeff
