MASTER SERGEANT JOHN ANDREW CALLAHAN; U.S. ARMY AIR FORCE

February 9, 1907 (Bridgeport, CT) – May 8, 1954; 47 years old; married the former Dorothy G. Tooker on July 31, 1931 in Norwalk; two children John and Jane
Last local address: 200 Woodward Avenue, South Norwalk
Enlisted February 24, 1941
Service number: 20032951 (also 20132951 on headstone application)
20TH AIR DEPOT GROUP, HEADQUARTERS AND HEADQUARTERS SQUADRON

Headstone application card reads “Enlisted in National Guard of Connecticut on February 11, 1941. Inducted into active military service on February 24, 1941. Honorable release from active duty and reverted to National Guard on November 6, 1941. Recalled to active duty on January 30, 1942.

Died in 1954 so it is unclear why he would be on the plaque. Could find no other records. Also, some conflicting information below where the John Callahan in the left-hand article was in Tank Division and the right-hand article was in the Army Air Force. Not sure if they’re the same person.
